nestlings

all day up the hill
on wobbling legs we climbed
to reach the elephant rock
and crawl our way to the top
at sunset to look
down the final ledge
into an eagle's nest!

this reminded me of my trek up shrub-filled hills to have an aerial view of the ring of lakes around a village. but an eyrie!wonderful. that surely makes it worthwhile.

regret or thrill?

thrill!
white-breasted eagle,
rare and endemic,
mom and nestlings...
can you imagine?

Is this the kin of the garuda or entirely different? I once happened to listen to a carnatic raga on violin relaxing on the terrace watching a few kites, circling in the blue evening sky, as if in tune with the music!

same species, i guess! if you watch, there is music in all movements. music in stillness too, isn't it.

Why is it that music triggers a flow of visuals in the mind. Is there a link between sounds and images.

not only music and sound, but smell and the sense of touch too bring visuals in the mind. visuals themselves take your mind to other visuals.
my wife is not home. i find a strand of her hair on our pillow and my mind speeds to her...
i pass a nice brahmin hotel on the street. the aroma of sambar sends my salivary glands into a turmoil.
i can list any number of speakable and unspeakable turns my mind had taken at the spark of outside stimulus.
don't you think so? it is interesting to watch the process.
